Any adventurous scratch builders out there? Here are some of my early designs that provided me with a lot of fun
(and a bit of aeronautical education) over the years. The earliest plans were drawn in pencil on vellum using classic
drafting tools like a T-square and triangles. Leter ones were drawn with the aid of a drafting machine, and the latest were
produced using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD). The quality and accuracy of the drawings are on a par with magazine plans,
but lack embellishments like grain, shading, and fancy title blocks. These are generally simple designs and the
plans are detailed enough even for first-time scratch builders. IMPORTANT NOTE! Not all of these designs have been built and flown. The development status of each design is clearly described below and on its corresponding web page. These plans are being offered to the modeling community because I simply want to share some of my early work that might otherwise never see the light of day. It is up to you to decide whether you want to experiment with an unproven design, and it is your responsibility to conduct test flights in a safe manner. |
